The stages of growth for the weed plant begins with germination, after which is the seedling stage. This is when the weed plant is a single blade and will begin to get leaves. The weed leaves will grow in pairs and each new set of leaves will be larger than the last set.
This takes six weeks and results in between nine to eleven leave sets.
The next stage is vegetative growth, which is when the weed plant will grow its most. The plant will grow at a faster rate than during the seedling cycle. In maximum conditions it is possible for the plant to grow as much as six inches a day.
